Commissioner, The Southeastern Conference
Sankey became the SEC’s eighth commissioner in June 2015 after holding various leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer, on the conference staff for 13 years. For example, Sankey was an integral part of former commissioner Mike Slive’s efforts to reshape the SEC’s governance, enforcement, and compliance program. Prior to joining the SEC staff, Sankey was commissioner of the Southland Conference for seven years. He is also a member of various NCAA committees.

Toughest Challenge: In 2009, I set a goal of running a marathon each month for the year. I actually ran a marathon for 15 straight months, and in June 2009, I ran marathons in consecutive weeks.
